Assistant Accountant
Duties and Responsibilities
- Raw Material Reconciliation: Monitor and record incoming raw materials.
- Stock Count Audits: Participate in regular physical stock counts of both raw materials and finished products.
- Wastage Reporting: Track and account for raw material losses and production spoilage.
- Overhead Allocation: Help allocate factory overheads.
- Accounts Payable (AP): Process invoices from suppliers and verify them against Goods Received
Notes (GRN) and payment processing. - Tax Documentation: Assist in preparing monthly statutory returns such as VAT, withholding tax, Teveta Levy and payroll deductions (PAYE).
- Reconciliation Timeliness: Completing weekly and monthly stock-take reconciliations on schedule.
- Variance Control: Speed and accuracy in identifying discrepancies between physical factory stock and system records.
- Maintain accurate documentation and filing of financial records.
- Any other duties as assigned from time to time.
Job Requirements & Qualifications
- Education: Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or related field.
- Experience: 1 – 3 years experience in a manufacturing or trading environment.
- Soft Skills: High attention to detail, strong ethical standards, and ability to collaborate with departmental heads.
