Zomba Central Hospital

Zomba Central Hospital is inviting applications from suitably qualified and interested Malawians to fill the vacant post of Revenue Accountant (1 post) for its Paying wing.

REVENUE ACCOUNTANT (1 post)

Grade: I

Age: 25 – 40 years

Responsible to: Head of Accounts

KEY REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accountancy or any related field obtained from a recognised institution
  • Those with 2 years’ work experience will have an added advantage

Competencies:

  • Good analytical and reconciliation skills
  • High level of integrity and attention to detail
  • Good communication and report writing skills
  • Sound knowledge of financial principles, practices and procedures

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Oversee billing of all paying services at the hospital and ensure daily collections are posted
  • Maintain revenue registers and subsidiary ledgers
  • Verify supporting documents for all revenue transactions
  • Monitor outstanding debts and follow up with debtors
  • Perform daily, weekly, and monthly reconciliation of collections
  • Preparation of monthly revenue reports for Management
  • Ensure timely banking of collections from service points and Wards
  • Ensure compliance with Public Finance Management Act
  • Assist with internal and external audits related to revenue
  • Any other relevant duties as assigned from time to time by the Head of Accounts
