About the job

Job Title: Resource Mobilisation Consultant

Employment Type: Contract / Consultancy

Location: Remote — open to candidates based anywhere in the SADC region or internationally

About EMAM

The Ex-Miners Association of Malawi (EMAM) is a Malawian civil society organisation representing over 46,000 former miners and their families, and an affiliate of the Southern Africa Miners Association (SAMA), a regional network spanning ten SADC countries.

About the Role

EMAM is seeking a Resource Mobilisation Consultant to map funding opportunities and develop 2–3 high-quality funding proposals aligned with our 2026–2030 Strategic Plan. The assignment includes a structured skills-transfer component, working directly alongside EMAM’s Programmes & Policy Lead for skills transfer.

Key Responsibilities

  • Map funding opportunities aligned with EMAM’s three strategic pillars (sustainable mining & climate justice; decent work & inclusive livelihoods; governance & community voice)
  • Produce a donor mapping report with funder profiles, deadlines, and alignment notes
  • Co-develop and finalise 2–3 submission-ready funding proposals
  • Transfer donor-mapping and proposal-development skills through structured co-working, including a reusable template and toolkit

Requirements

  • Demonstrated track record in resource mobilisation, donor mapping, or proposal writing for civil society organisations
  • Familiarity with funding relevant to sustainable mining, public/occupational health, labour rights, or governance, including gender, climate justice, and extractives-focused streams
  • Experience mentoring or co-working with counterpart staff — this is a required competency, not a preference
  • Two contactable references

Contract Details

  • Duration: contracting by 30 September 2026, ending 30 November 2026
  • Fee: USD 3,000, paid in two instalments against agreed checkpoints

How to Apply

Submit one combined file (CV, max 2 pages, followed by technical proposal, financial proposal, and references — max 5 pages total) to john@emammalawi.org by 18 September 2026.
