1. Background
GIZ is implementing the Sustainable Aquatic Foods (SAF) Project under the BMZ Special Initiative on Transformation of Agriculture and Food Systems. Fish is a key protein source in Malawi, yet small-scale farmers face low productivity due to limited technical capacity and climate-related challenges. GIZ-SAF therefore seeks a qualified local company to deliver technical training and coaching to fish farmers and hatchery operators across eight districts in the Southern Region.

2. Objectives

• Strengthen the technical and managerial capacity of small-scale fish farmers and hatchery operators to increase sustainable aquaculture production. Specific objectives include:
• Improve knowledge and skills in climate-smart, sustainable aquaculture production systems.
• Enhance productivity through climate-resilient pond management, hatchery operations, and feed/water quality practices.
• Ensure at least 40% women’s participation and promote youth-led farms as key actors in climate adaptation.
• Conduct post-training coaching loops to support on-farm adoption of climate-smart practices.

3. How to apply
