VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT
Position: Pharmacist
Tomoka Group of Companies, we are seeking a qualified, dedicated, and experienced Pharmacist to join our team at Chitipi in Lilongwe. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the safe and effective dispensing of medicines, providing professional pharmaceutical services, and supporting overall patient care.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Dispense prescribed medications accurately and in compliance with professional standards and legal requirements.
- Review prescriptions to ensure accuracy, appropriateness, and correct dosage.
- Provide patients with proper guidance on medication usage, dosage, side effects, and storage.
- Monitor drug therapy and advise healthcare professionals on potential drug interactions and contraindications.
- Maintain accurate pharmacy records, inventory, and stock control systems.
- Ensure proper storage and handling of medicines and pharmaceutical supplies.
- Supervise pharmacy assistants and support staff where necessary.
- Participate in procurement, ordering, and management of pharmaceutical supplies.
- Ensure compliance with national pharmacy regulations, policies, and ethical standards.
- Provide health promotion and patient counseling services.
- Prepare reports related to pharmacy operations and medicine usage.
- Support quality assurance and continuous improvement initiatives within the pharmacy department.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Pharmacy from a recognized institution.
- Registered with PMRA
- Valid practicing license.
- Minimum of 2 year of relevant work experience.
- Strong knowledge of pharmaceutical regulations and standards.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- High level of integrity, professionalism, and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
