OPEN TENDER FOR THE DISPOSAL OF MOTOR VEHICLES DISPOSAL
REFERENCE NUMBER: EGC359/NCB/G/FY2026 – 27

1. Electricity Generation Company (Malawi) Limited (EGENCO), has a fleet of vehicles which it intends to dispose of by means of tendering through sealed bids on “as is” “where is” basis with no guarantee or warranty expressed or implied as to the condition of the items.

2. EGENCO invites sealed written bids from interested members of the public for the acquisition of the motor vehicles listed below:

3. Bidding shall be conducted through Open Tendering using sealed bids and in full compliance with the Public Procurement and Disposal of Public Assets Act of 2025 and its subsidiary regulations. Participation is open to eligible Malawian citizen bidders, who shall be required to submit copies of their valid National Identification Cards as part of their bid submissions.

4. Bidders may submit bids for one or more motor vehicles of their choice. However, each successful bidder shall be eligible to purchase only one motor vehicle.

5. Mandatory viewing of the motor vehicles shall be conducted during official working hours only, upon prior arrangement with the Chief Engineer on +265 888 169 169 or via email at bkanyika@egenco.mw. Viewing will be available from 08:30 to 16:00 hours local time, Monday to Friday, excluding public holidays. All prospective bidders are required to sign the designated vehicle viewing register during inspection of the motor vehicles being offered for disposal.

6. The award of contracts to successful bidders shall be communicated formally in writing. Successful bidders will be required to make full payment to EGENCO within ten (10) days of receipt of the Letter of Offer. Failure to make payment within the stipulated period will result in withdrawal of the offer and award of the motor vehicle to the next eligible bidder. No refunds will be made after payment for the vehicles.

7. Sealed bids marked with the Disposal Reference Number should be deposited in the Tender Box on or before Friday, 24th July, 2026 at 9:00hrs local time. Electronic bidding will not be permitted and late bids shall be rejected. Bids will be opened in the presence of bidder’s representatives who choose to attend at the address given in 10(c) below at 9:00hrs local time on Friday, 24th July, 2026.

8. EGENCO reserves the right to accept or reject any bid, in whole or in part, without assigning any reason(s).

9. Bidders not appearing on the viewing register will have their bids rejected
