Bliss Lodge- Chikwawa is inviting applications from qualified and self-motivated individuals to fill the following positions:
LODGE MANAGER
DUTIES:
- Oversee daily lodge operations
- Supervise and coordinate staff
- Ensure excellent guest experiences
- Manage budgets and lodge resources
- Monitor maintenance, safety, and cleanliness
- And any other duties assigned from time to time
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Diploma or Certificate in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or related field
- Minimum 2 years of experience in hospitality management
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- Knowledge of hotel systems and customer service
CHEF
DUTIES
- Develop and cost menus based on seasonality and guest preferences
- Supervise kitchen staff and ensure food is prepared to standards
- Monitor food stock and place orders as needed
- Maintain cleanliness, hygiene, and safety in the kitchen
- Train and mentor junior kitchen staff
- Coordinate with restaurant, Reception, Housekeeping and bar teams for smooth service delivery
- And any other duties assigned from time to time
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
- Certificate in Food Production, Culinary Arts, or related field
- MSCE, JCE with minimum 3 years’ experience as a Chef in a hotel, lodge, or restaurant
- Knowledge of food costing, stock control, and menu planning
- Ability to work under pressure and manage a team
- Excellent communication and leadership skills
Receptionist
Duties:
- Welcome guests and handle check-in/check-out
- Manage bookings and reservation records
- Respond to guest inquiries in person and via phone
- Maintain front desk area and handle administrative tasks
- And any other duties assigned from time to time
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Certificate in Front Office Operations, Hospitality, or related field
- Computer literacy and knowledge of booking systems
- Fluent in English and Chichewa
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Housekeepers
Duties:
- Clean and maintain guest rooms and lodge facilities
- Replace linen, towels, and supplies
- Report damages and ensure cleanliness standards
- Assist with laundry when required
- And any other duties assigned from time to time
QUALIFICATIONS:
- MSCE or JCE with 1 year working experience
- Prior experience in cleaning or housekeeping is an added advantage
- Knowledge of cleaning chemicals and supplies
- Good physical condition and attention to detail
BARTENDER
DUTIES:
- Prepare and serve beverages
- Maintain cleanliness of bar area
- Monitor bar stock and supplies
- Provide friendly and prompt service
- And any other duties assigned from time to time
QUALIFICATIONS:
- MSCE or JCE with 1 year working experience
- Certificate in Food & Beverage or Bar Operations is an added advantage
- Experience working in a bar or hospitality setting
- Good communication and customer service skills
WAITRESS
DUTIES:
- Take guest orders and serve food and drinks
- Ensure tables are clean and well-set
- Present menus and explain specials to guests
- Provide high-quality customer service
- Assist with billing and clearing tables
- And any other duties assigned from time to time
QUALIFICATIONS:
- MSCE or JCE with 1 year working experience
- Certificate in Food and Beverage Service or related field is an advantage
- Experience in restaurant or lodge service preferred
- Friendly personality and good communication skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
SECURITY GUARD
DUTIES:
- Patrol lodge premises
- Monitor entrances/exits and security systems
- Ensure safety of guests, staff, and property
- Report and respond to security incidents
- And any other duties assigned from time to time
QUALIFICATIONS:
- JCE with 1 year working experience
- Prior security training or experience
- Physically fit and disciplined
- Knowledge of basic security protocols
BOUNCERS
DUTIES:
- Maintain order at bars and events
- Check guest entry and IDs
- Prevent and handle disruptions professionally
- Assist in emergency response if needed
- And any other duties assigned from time to time
QUALIFICATION:
- JCE with 1 year working experience
- Experience in crowd control or security preferred
- Physically strong and confident
- Good judgment and calm under pressure
GARDEN BOY
DUTIES:
- Maintain garden and landscaping
- Watering, trimming, and general outdoor upkeep
- Assist with event setup and outdoor cleaning
- Maintain gardening tools and equipment
- And any other duties assigned from time to time.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience in landscaping or gardening is an advantage
- Hardworking and able to follow instructions
- Passion for outdoor work
- And any other duties assigned from time to time
