The Electricity Supply Corporation of Malawi (ESCOM) Limited is incorporated under the Companies Act of the Laws of Malawi. Its core business is to procure, transmit and distribute electric power in Malawi as well as manage System Market Operations and Single Buyer licensees in Malawi. ESCOM is inviting applications from suitably qualified candidates to fill the following vacant positions currently existing within the Corporation:

Temporary Security Guards

Grade: SW

Location: CHITIPA (1), KARONGA (2), MZUZU (2), EKWENDENI (6)

Supervised by: Security Guard

Tenure: 6 months

Purpose of the Job

To provide security to ESCOM property and staff that guarantees their optimal safety and security.

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Safeguarding ESCOM premises
  2. Searching incoming and outgoing vehicles
  3. Reporting incidents
  4. Firefighting
  5. Any other duties assigned from time to time

ATTRIBUTES AND COMPETENCIES

  • Team player
  • Physically fit
  • Clean criminal record

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Malawi School Certificate of Education (MSCE)
  • At least 1-year experience
  • Aged between 25–35
