We are expanding our creative team and seeking a dynamic Podcast Producer (Paid Intern) who will specialize in creating highly engaging short-form video content (Reels, TikToks, etc.) for social media platforms.

Role Overview

The Podcast Producer (Paid Intern) will be responsible for producing and editing mobile-friendly, visually striking videos that capture and retain viewer attention. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in short-form content creation, motion graphics, and video editing software. This role demands a keen sense of current social media trends and the ability to tailor content for various platforms.

Key Responsibilities
1. Short-Form Content Creation
-Design, edit, and produce Reels, TikToks, and other short-form videos for social media platforms.
-Incorporate in-video text, motion graphics, and engaging visual elements to drive audience interaction.
2. Graphic Design & Branding
– Develop on-brand text overlays, animations, and other visual assets to enhance video engagement.
– Collaborate with the design team to ensure content adheres to Podcast Malawi’s overall style and branding guidelines.
3. Video Editing & Production
– Trim footage, add music, transitions, and special effects to create polished, high-quality content.

– Optimize videos for mobile viewing and various social media channel specifications.

4. Research & Trend Monitoring
– Stay updated on current social media trends, challenges, and content formats to keep Podcast Malawi’s content fresh and engaging.

– Recommend new formats or approaches to capture emerging audience segments.

5. Collaboration
– Work closely with the Podcast Coordinator and other production team members to align content goals with programming schedules.

– Provide input during planning sessions to ensure a cohesive visual experience across all platforms.

Qualifications & Requirements Education: At least an MSCE (Malawi School Certificate of Education).

Experience: Demonstrable experience creating short-form video content (Reels, TikToks, or similar). Ability to showcase a strong portfolio of past work is highly preferred.

Technical Skills: 
  • Proficiency in video editing software (e.g., Adobe Premiere Pro, CapCut, Final Cut Pro, or equivalent).
  • Basic graphic design skills and familiarity with tools like Adobe After Effects, Illustrator, or Canva.

Creative Mindset: Strong sense of visual storytelling with an understanding of pacing, formatting, and audience engagement on social media.
Adaptability: Ability to work under tight deadlines, adapt to rapidly evolving trends, and incorporate feedback efficiently.
Communication: Good verbal and written communication skills for collaborating with team members and presenting creative ideas.
