Banja La Mtsogolo (BLM) is a Malawian Non-Governmental Healthcare Organization established in 1987. BLM provides quality Family Planning and Reproductive Healthcare including HIV/AIDS information and interventions. BLM is a senior member of the MSI Reproductive Choices Partnership which works in 43 countries. BLM exists to improve quality of life in Malawi through family planning and reproductive health care services. BLM serves over 800,000 clients annually and makes a significant contribution to national family planning objectives. The organization has national coverage, operating through 23 clinics, and numerous outreach clinic sites.

MONITORING & EVALUATION ASSISTANT (1 POSITION)

REPORTING LINE : Monitoring & Evaluation Manager

Role Purpose

The Data Entry Clerk plays a pivotal role in the collection and management of data within the organisation. He/she not only enters data obtained from various sources but also ensures its accuracy and appropriateness. In addition, he/she generates relevant reports from this data and provides effective responses to all queries arising from the issuance of such reports.

Key Responsibilities

  • Keep track of received data and source documents
  • End to End data management (consolidate at source, sort, entry, query management,
  • reporting and interpretation).
  • Confirm accuracy of data such as age, type of service, total clients, and other parameters as per guidelines.
  • Review and make necessary corrections to information entered.
  • Assist in establishing and maintaining an effective and efficient records management system
  • Generate reports and respond to inquiries regarding entered data as requested.
  • Maintain confidential information

Qualification, Experience, Competencies and Skills

  • Diploma in statistics/mathematics or Business Information Systems
  • Minimum experience of two years in maintaining simple databases and data entry
  • Ability to design simple databases and perform data summaries
  • Proven ability to interpret numerical data
  • A thorough understanding and experience of MIS
  • Advance computer literacy in excel spreadsheet and other applications
  • Great attention to detail
  • Strong analytical skills, quality and accuracy driven
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Pro-Choice
