You are not alone (YANA) is a charitable organisation which bring hope to the hopeless and support the underprivileged children in Malawi. Looking at the growth of the organisation, it has now created the MEDIA opening to all the qualified JOURNALISTS as citizens of Malawi to fill in the following vacant position as the competent body to join YANA family in Mzuzu City through the media department;

Position               : Journalist

Duty Station       : Mzuzu

Work Status        : Performance based contract

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

  • Bachelor of Arts Degree in Journalism or Bachelor of Arts Mass Communication or Bachelor of Arts media for development studies from a well reputable registered and accredited Universities or Institutions. Those with Diploma of the related should have not less than 5-years experience but for those with degrees should have not less than 3-years’ experience in media industry, on the following areas:
    • Radio and TV program presentation and broadcasting
    • Video Production and Editing
    • Documentary development and presentation/Commentation
    • Social medial broadcasting and videopresentation
    • Videoconference broadcasting
  • Be conversant with media constitution of Malawi
  • Well registered and recognized by MISA Malawi an added advantage
  • Well matured, creative, Innovative and conversant with media industry of Malawi.
  • Self-starter and well presentable with social-journalism curriculum.
  • Must represent the organisation in the global industry through cultural media approaches and reputable presentations.
  • Excellent understanding of village management procedures in the medial language.
  • Proficient knowledge of social media channels and other media digital platforms.
  • Proficient in Ms Office, Adobe acrobat, adobe photoshop, media production and editorial softwares.
