We are looking for ambitious, experienced, and highly motivated individuals to join our dynamic team as Head Drivers.
Purpose of the Job
The successful candidates will play a key role in training drivers and ensuring continuous improvement in delivery and transportation efficiency. They will also coordinate the allocation of drivers to various assignments and oversee the overall welfare of drivers.
Key Responsibilities
Reporting to the Site Manager, the Head Driver will be responsible for:
- Assisting in the development of deployment plans for proper allocation of drivers.
- Ensuring that fleet checklists are completed accurately by drivers.
- Training drivers on in-transit standards and ensuring compliance with standard operating procedures.
- Conducting pre-trip and post-trip inspections of deployment trucks.
- Conducting weekly PEP-Talk sessions with drivers to improve driving behavior and performance.
- Providing feedback to assigned drivers on their trip performance.
- Managing drivers’ allowances, fees, and in-transit costs.
- Overseeing drivers’ annual leave compliance according to company policy.
Education & Experience
The ideal candidates should possess the following:
- Diploma in Logistics and Supply Chain Management or Diploma in Business Management.
- Code CI Driver’s License along with a Defensive Driving Certificate and MSCE.
- Experience driving MAN trucks for at least 5 years, preferably in the FMCG industry.
Key Competencies
- Strong team leadership and motivational skills.
- Self-starter with a high level of self-discipline.
- Ability to analyze data from drivers’ trips and recommend improvements.
- Strong mechanical knowledge for detecting minor vehicle defects.
- Ability to use fleet management tools such as dashboards, tracking tables, and KPIs.
- Experience in designing and implementing driver rosters.
- Good communication skills.
