FARM MECHANISATION (GRADE I/M6)
Post: Agricultural Officer (Farm Mechanization)
Grade : I/M6
Location : Thyolo District Council
DUTIES
- Develop strategies for the implementation of farm mechanization programs.
- Prepare Annual Work Plans and budgets.
- Develop technical messages on farm mechanization.
- Liaise with local manufacturers/suppliers/dealers on the supply of recommended farm tools, implements and spare parts.
- Provide technical support on farm mechanization development programs.
- Maintain date bank for farm mechanization.
- Organize and conduct training programs on farm mechanization.
- Participate in the identification and testing prototype tools and implements.
- Monitor the implementation of farm mechanization programs.
- Supervise Draught Animal Handlers
- Prepare and submit reports as required.
- Participate in the estimates of farm implements and spare parts.
- Arrange and attend farm mechanization meetings.
- Prepare short, medium and long term farm mechanization plans.
Qualifications
Applicants must be in possession of Bachelor of Science Degree in Agriculture Engineering /Farm Mechanization obtained from a recognized University/ accredited institution.
