TENDER for STARLINK INSTALLATION IN SELECT BeFIT SCHOOLS

The Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education (MoBSE), through the Building Education Foundations through Innovation and Technology (BEFIT) Programme, is implementing a large-scale digital learning initiative across public primary schools in Malawi. This flagship programme, running from September 2023 through August 2029, aims to strengthen literacy and numeracy outcomes through the deployment of tablet-enabled digital learning solutions. Under BEFIT, over 1,000 schools have been equipped with solar-powered systems, tablets, charging hubs, and related digital infrastructure, reaching approximately 3.8 million learners nationwide.

Imagine Malawi Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as “Imagine”) serves as the Consortium Lead and ecosystem coordinator for the BEFIT Programme, working in partnership with MoE and other consortium partners to ensure effective implementation. Imagine provides technical oversight, coordinates service delivery, and supports the integration of technology into teaching and learning.

As part of ongoing efforts to enhance digital learning environments, Imagine is undertaking a connectivity project to install Starlink internet kits in 260 schools across Malawi. Reliable internet connectivity is essential for enabling access to digital content, supporting teacher training, and facilitating real-time programme monitoring.

To achieve this, Imagine will provide all necessary Starlink kits, which will be pre-configured by Imagine’s technical team. All mounting options and ancillary hardware will also be supplied by Imagine. To ensure efficient, high-quality, and timely deployment, Imagine seeks to engage qualified service providers to manage the physical installation of these kits.

Given the scale of the project, schools will be allocated to multiple service providers based on geographic clusters to ensure efficiency and rapid completion.
