INVITATION FOR BIDS – REHABILITATION OF FLOOD-DAMAGED PUMPHOUSE AND ASSOCIATED INFRASTRUCTURE AT MM (OPERATIONS) LIMITED, SALIMA

MM (Operations) Ltd would like to rehabilitate flood-damaged infrastructure at its farms in Salima and now invites sealed bids from eligible and qualified contractors for the execution of the following works:

1. Scope of Works

The works comprise the rehabilitation and reconstruction of flood-damaged infrastructure, including but not limited to:

1. Rehabilitation and underpinning of the existing pumphouse, including structural repairs and scour protection.
2. Construction of a new reinforced concrete spillway.
3. Replacement of the existing Kavula Bridge with a new approximately 13-metre single-span bridge.
4. Reconstruction and upgrading of internal access roads, including grading and gravelling
5. Construction of reinforced concrete box culverts at seventeen (17) crossing locations.
6. Gabion works and erosion protection at critical scoured sections and near the main gate.
7. Associated drainage works, backfilling, compaction, and ancillary civil works.

2. Eligibility

Bidding is open to contractors who:

• Are registered with the National Construction Industry Council of Malawi (NCIC);
• Hold a valid registration certificate in the Unlimited Category;
• Are in good standing with the Malawi Revenue Authority and other statutory bodies;
• Have demonstrable experience in similar civil engineering works, including bridges, culverts, roads, and hydraulic structures;
• Possess the necessary technical personnel, equipment, and financial capacity.

3. Tender Documents
Interested bidders may obtain the complete bidding documents, including drawings, technical specifications, and Bills of Quantities, upon written request to the address below and payment of a non-refundable tender fee of MK100,000.00

4. Site Visit
A mandatory site visit will be conducted on 21st May 2026 at 10:00 hours. All interested bidders are required to attend. The meeting point shall be MM (Operations) Ltd Farms, Salima.

5. Submission of Bids
Completed bids, clearly marked: “Tender for Rehabilitation of Flood-Damaged Infrastructure at MM (Operations) Ltd, Salima” must be delivered to the address below on or before 5th June 2026 at 14:00 hours local time.

Bids will be opened immediately thereafter in the presence of bidders’ representatives who choose to attend.

Late bids shall be rejected.

6. Bid Security
Each bid must be accompanied by a Bid Security in the amount of 2% of the Tender Sum, in the form of a Bank Guarantee from a reputable financial institution.

7. Employer’s Rights
MM (Operations) Ltd reserves the right to accept or reject any bid and is not bound to accept the lowest or any bid.
