Malawi Red Cross Society (MRCS) is a local organization which was enacted by Parliament under Chapter 18:09 of the Laws of Malawi as a sole voluntary aid society auxiliary to the public authorities. MRCS offices are located in Area 14, along Presidential Way, P.O Box 30096, Capital City, and Lilongwe 3. The Society’s mission is to alleviate human suffering and improve quality of life of vulnerable people through relief, development activities and dissemination of the movement’s fundamental principles.

The Malawi Red Cross Society is implementing an Integrated Community Based Health Project (ICBP) in Kasungu District which has a Water, Sanitation and Hygiene component. The specific objective of the WASH Component is to supply safe drinking water and sanitation infrastructure in the targeted Health Facilities and three Traditional Authorities of Santhe, Kawamba and Nthunduwala.
