FOR PROVISION OF INSURANCE AND LIFE ASSURANCE SERVICES
BY NATIONAL COMPETITIVE BIDDING
PROCUREMENT NO ESC03/NCB/S/FY2026-27
DATE OF ISSUE: 3rd August 2026

1. The Electricity Supply Corporation of Malawi Limited (ESCOM) a state-owned company has budgeted funds to be used for provision of insurance and life assurance services for ESCOM properties and its members of staff

2. The Corporation now invites sealed bids from eligible bidders for the following:

Lot 3: Provision of Insurance Services for Optic Fibre (OFC) Properties and Assets	ESCOM
Lot 4: Provision of Insurance Services for Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) Installations	ESCOM
Lot 5: Provision of General Life Assurance Services (Death benefits and Funeral Cover )	ESCOM

3. Bidding will be conducted in accordance with National Competitive Bidding (NCB) procedures specified in the Malawi Public Procurement and Disposal of Public Assets Act, 2025.

4. Interested eligible bidders may obtain further information and inspect the Bidding Documents from ESCOM’s Procurement Division at the address given in paragraph 8(a) below from 08:00 to 12:00 hrs, 13:00 to 16:00 hrs local time (Monday to Friday) except national public holidays.

5. A complete set of Bidding Documents in English language may be purchased by interested bidders at 8(b) below upon payment of a non-refundable fee of MK10, 000.00. The method of payment will be cash or bank certified cheque. The document may be collected by the bidder.

6. Bids must be delivered to the Tender Box at address at 8(c) below on or before 27th August 2026 at 10.00 hours local time. Electronic bidding will not be permitted and Late Bids will be rejected. Bids will be opened in the presence of the bidders’ representatives who choose to attend at the address 8(d) below on 27th August 2026 at 10:00 hours local time.

7. Bids must be accompanied by a Bid Security as specified in the Bidding Documents or a Bid Securing Declaration Form if the Bidder is 100% owned by Malawian Nationals. The Bid Security must be in form of a Bank Certified Cheque or Bank Guarantee issued by a reputable bank agreeable to the Purchaser.
