1. Chikwawa District Council has received funds from the Government of Malawi through the Reformed Constituency Development Fund (CDF) and intends to apply part of the funds to cover the eligible payments for Construction and Upgrading of various infrastructures in its Seven (7) Constituencies. The District Council now invites sealed bids from eligible contractors registered with CIRA in the relevant categories for the procurement of the following works:

2. Bidding will be conducted through open tendering procedures under National Competitive Bidding (NCB) procedures as specified in the Malawi Public Procurement and Regulations of the Government of the Republic of Malawi, and are open to all Contractors/bidders from Eligible Source as defined in the Bidding Documents.

3. Interested eligible bidders may obtain further information and inspect the bidding documents at the address given below from 08:00 to 12:00; 13:00 to 16:00 hour’s local time (Monday to Friday, except national public holidays).

4. A complete set of Bidding Documents in English may be purchased by interested bidders upon payment of a non-refundable fee of MK40, 000.00 (Forty Thousand Malawi Kwacha Only). The method of payment will be cash. The Bidding Documents will be collected by the interested bidder.

5. Bids address must be valid for ninety (90) days after bid opening and must be accompanied by a Bid Securing Declaration per lot in original form.

6. Bids must be delivered to the address (9a) and deposited to the box marked (Reformed CDF Tender Box) that is placed at the main Entrance of Chikwawa District Council Offices on or before 14:00 Hours Local Time on Friday, 28th August, 2026.Late Bids will be rejected. Bids will be opened in the presence of the bidders or their representatives, who choose to attend at the address in (9b) below at 14:00 Hours Local Time on Friday, 28th August, 2026.

7. It is the responsibility of each Bidder to ensure that bids are submitted in accordance with “Instructions to Bidders” in the bidding documents as non-compliance to the instructions will lead to automatic disqualification and rejection of the bid.

8. Bidders are requested to visit the site at their own cost prior to submission of bids.
