The company has an urgent requirement for the following vacancy tenable at its Rumphi Project Site:

JOB DETAILS

• Job Title: General Electrician (1)
• Nature of Contract: One Year Fixed Term
• Duty Station: Rumphi
• Reporting to: Workshop Manager
• Department: Workshop

JOB SUMMARY

The General Electrician is responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems in residential, commercial, or industrial settings. They ensure all electrical work complies with safety standards and local regulations.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Install electrical wiring, lighting systems, outlets, and circuit breakers
• Inspect, troubleshoot, and repair electrical faults or failures
• Read and interpret electrical diagrams, blueprints, and technical drawings
• Perform routine maintenance on electrical systems and equipment
• Ensure compliance with safety codes and regulations
• Test electrical systems using tools like multimeters and voltmeters
• Upgrade or replace outdated electrical components
• Work with other technicians, contractors, or engineers when needed
• Maintain records of work performed and materials used
• Any other duties that may be assigned from time to time

EXPERIENCE

• 2 to 3 years of experience in the field of electrician
• Apprenticeship or on-the-job training preferred
• Genset and motors electrical troubleshooting and problem solving
• Experience in residential or commercial electrical work is an advantage

QUALIFICATIONS

• Certificate or Diploma in Electrical Installation or related field
• Strong attention to safety and preventive practices
