Job Title : Assistant Accountant
Grade : K
Reporting to : Facility In Charge
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The general duties and responsibility of the will include the following:
- Analyzing operations, trends, costs, revenues, financial commitments, and obligations, to project future revenues and expenses and advise the hospital management on financial management.
- Developing, implementing, modifying, and document recordkeeping and accounting systems, making use of current computer technology
- Developing, maintaining, and analyzing budgets, preparing periodic reports that compare budgeted costs to actual costs.
- Establishing tables of accounts and assigning entries to proper accounts.
- Preparing, examining, or analyzing accounting records, financial statements, or other financial reports to assess accuracy, completeness, and conformance to reporting and procedural standards.
- Interpreting financial policies on accounts.
- Supervising all accounts staff including health centers
- Controlling day to day operations of main accounts.
- Reporting to management regarding the finances of the health center
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
- Minimum of Diploma in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in accounting.
- Registered member of the Institute of Chartered Accounts in Malawi (ICAM).
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office applications.
