Research Assistant (Temporary)

JOB DESCRIPTION FOR RESEARCH ASSISTANT

Job Information

Job Summary:

The research assistant will play a pivotal role in
supporting the data collection for a study project within APZU/PIH (Abwenzi Pa
Za Umoyo / Partners In Health). Reporting directly to the Principal
Investigator and/or Research Officer, the research assistant will receive a
monthly stipend and necessary support to fulfill their responsibilities. This
temporary position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to meaningful
research in the field of public health.

Key Responsibilities:

• Collect
  quantitative data through various methods, including surveys, experiments,
  and data scraping techniques.
• Collect
  data through In-depth interviews, Key Informant interviews, Focus Group
  Discussions as well as observation
• Ensure
  the accuracy and completeness of collected data by implementing quality
  control
• Assist
  in the analysis and interpretation of quantitative/qualitative data,
  including generating summary statistics, thematic coding and conducting
  basic statistical analyses.
• Prepare
  clear and concise reports, summaries, and visualizations of collected data
• Stay
  informed about developments in data collection methodologies and
  contribute to the improvement of data collection processes.
• Any
  other duties assigned within the research department from time to time

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s
  degree in a relevant field such as statistics, social sciences, public
  Health, or a related field.
• Demonstrated
  experience in quantitative/qualitative data collection and management.
• Prior
  experience in transcribing qualitative data
• Proficiency
  in data management and analysis software such as Excel, SPSS and R.
• Proficiency
  in data collection tools such as CommCare, REDCap, and other similar
  platforms
• Attention
  to detail and a commitment to maintaining data accuracy and integrity.
• Ability
  to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment.
• Prior
  experience with data collection tools and techniques, such as survey
  design and administration.
